Sodium methyl cocoyl taurate (SMCT), also known as Sodium Cocoyl Taurate or Sodium Cocoyl Taurate, is an amino acid surfactant with the chemical formula RCON (CH3) CH2CH2SO3Na. It is a milky white viscous paste at room temperature, with a pH value of 6.5-9.0 in a 1% aqueous solution and an active substance content of>38%. Coconut Chemicalbook oleic acid soap is less than 2% and has a color (APHA) of ≤ 300. It is a milder surfactant than SLS, It has low irritation to the skin and good cleansing power. For facial cleansers, it can be used with confidence and is suitable for preparing various high-end shampoos, facial cleansers, and bath preparations. It is particularly suitable for infant and toddler products, giving hair and skin a gentle, moisturizing, and smooth feeling. It can also be used as a refining agent and cleansing agent for woolen and silk printing and dyeing industries.
