1,8-diazabicycloundecano-7-ene (DBU) can be used as a catalyst for the production of polyaminomethanol ethyl ester and other chemical products, dichloroethane reacting in its presence . It is an excellent dehydrating agent, epoxy resin hardener, rust inhibitor, and Chemicalbook can be used to prepare advanced corrosion inhibitors.
