tert-butyl catechol can be used as an efficient polymerization inhibitor during the distillation or storage and transportation of olefin monomers; it is also used as an antioxidant for polyethylene, polypropylene, polychloroprene, synthetic rubber, nylon and other polymers, as well as is used as an antioxidant for various compounds such as grease and its derivatives, ethyl cellulose, and lubricating oils. In addition, it can also be used as a passivator for polyurethane catalysts; as a stabilizer for pesticides and various organic compounds.
